PANDIT VISWANATHAN GURUKKAL
Pandit Viswanathan Gurukkal came to the United States 20 years ago with the dream of serving the welfare of the Hindu community according to Vedic and Sanatana Dharma. He hails from a family legacy of priesthood from Kumbakonam and Erode, Tamil Nadu and has served many temples in India and the United States. Among these temples was his recent service at the Shiva Murugan Temple in Concord, California.

For the North Bay Hindu community, Pandit Viswanath brings a vast knowledge of Vedic mantras handed down to him from his learned ancestors and Gurus. Importantly, he is able to speak in English and Tamil and has a good understanding of Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

On a personal level, Pandit Viswanath has had a keen interest in Hindu prayers and worshipped Lord Shiva from childhood. His goal is to serve and share Sanatana Dharma all over the world and help as many people as he can using his God-gifted abilities and the knowledge he has acquired, which he credits to God, his Gurus and his parents.
